An imaginary company I created called Neighbours’ Basket. The concept was to create a platform where local small food businesses or individuals could sell their homemade culinary goods. Living in a rural area myself, I am aware of the challenges small business owners have marketing their product to the area. I also wanted to create a space that individuals who were known for their certain dish, could sell it. The brand concept is derived around the values of small towns and the demographic of people.
This was an undertaking, as the functionality and UI were key to making this work. I had to thoughtfully think about how a user vs. a seller would interact with the pages. This meant creating a specific search feature for users to find sellers in their local area, a product page with detailed info cards, a vendors page to showcase a sellers brand/products, and an innovative dashboard to manage productions/results. The dashboard needed to be simple to use while also being interactive and on brand. The mockup shows multiple dashboard pages, where a vendor could create and edit a product; giving advanced edit features like a product photo, ingredients list, food category, how many orders placed, and reviews.
Because this was a fictional business concept, there is much to be tested and explored, but how I wish this business existed!
